osprey-talon-velocity-20-dark-charcoal-tumbleweed-yellow
Osprey Talon Velocity 20 Dark Charcoal / Tumbleweed Yellow

The Osprey Talon Velocity 20 Dark Charcoal / Tumbleweed Yellow is a men's multisport pack with a running-vest-inspired harness. Its flexible AirScape backpanel and adjustable torso fit make it a practical option for active days. The size changes the capacity: S/M provides 20 litres at 0.87 kg; L/XL provides 22 litres at 0.88 kg.

Pockets on the harness accept compatible 500 ml soft flasks, while an external hydration sleeve provides another carrying option. A top cinch closure, stretch side pockets and front mesh pocket help organise essentials. The main fabric is 100% recycled high-tenacity nylon, and the pack is a certified bluesign product. Match your hydration accessories to the pocket layout and your own setup.

Fit the pack with a realistic load. Put in the clothing, food and other essentials you normally carry, then adjust the harness gradually. Compare the available torso sizes and walk around with the pack fastened. Check where the straps sit and whether the load moves comfortably with you. A bag that feels good when empty may feel different when packed, so use the fitting to reproduce your actual day outside.

Place dense items close to your back and organise lighter layers around them. Keep frequently needed items where you can reach them without emptying the main compartment. Test pocket access while wearing the pack, including with the jacket you expect to use. Before a longer outing, check that bottles or other chosen hydration equipment fit the intended pockets and remain secure during movement.

Plan capacity rather than filling every space. Think about the length of the route, weather and the equipment you need to take. A streamlined load can make organisation easier, while enough room for an extra layer helps when conditions change. The size-specific volumes matter here: choose the torso fit first, then assess whether that version has suitable capacity for your kit. Avoid judging the fit from the model name alone.

After use, empty the pack, remove dirt and let it dry before storage. Follow Osprey's care guidance for cleaning and protect zips and buckles from grit. Inspect the straps and attachment points regularly, especially if you carry equipment externally. Behind The Pines can help compare pack sizes and carrying systems, so you can choose a bag around your route, load and comfortable fit.

Technical specifications

Vest-inspired harness; AirScape backpanel

Adjustable torso fit

S/M: 20 L; 0.87 kg

L/XL: 22 L; 0.88 kg

500 ml soft-flask-compatible harness pockets

External hydration sleeve

Top cinch closure; stretch storage pockets

100% recycled nylon main fabric

Certified bluesign product

Explore our Osprey collection and compare backpacks at Behind The Pines.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0914/5322/7390/files/Osprey-Talon-Velocity-20-Dark-Charcoal-Tumbleweed-Yellow-1.jpg?v=1791472699
