The jacket is constructed from Wee Burly Double Weave, a membrane free softshell material engineered to balance wind resistance, water repellency, stretch, and high breathability. This fabric stretches in four directions, allowing natural movement during dynamic activities such as hiking, climbing, and scrambling. Its construction supports airflow, making it suitable for active use without overheating.
A PFC free DWR treatment adds water repellency, helping shed light rain and snow while reducing environmental impact. While not a waterproof shell, the Gamma Hoody provides reliable protection in variable weather where breathability is critical. The fabric incorporates partially recycled material, approximately 30 percent, and is bluesign certified, supporting responsible material sourcing and manufacturing standards.
The StormHood™ is fully adjustable and helmet compatible, offering effective coverage without restricting vision or movement. A full length front zipper with chin guard improves comfort when fully zipped, while pre shaped sleeves enhance mobility through the shoulders and arms. Elastic cuffs and an adjustable drawcord hem help seal out wind and fine tune the fit.
Storage is practical and secure, with two zippered hand pockets and a zippered internal pocket for valuables. The jacket has a regular fit, allowing room for light layering underneath without excess bulk. Weighing 545 grams in size M, it strikes a balance between durability and wearability for extended use.
