Union Sale
Union Sale at Behind The Pines Amsterdam
Reduced Union bindings and Union Boot Division boots. Union is the binding brand we sell most of, and the reason is straightforward: the hardware holds up, the parts are replaceable, and the flex patterns are honest about what each model is for.
These are current products at a reduced price, usually because a colourway is being moved on. Construction and warranty are unchanged.
What Union does well
Bindings are the part of a setup people underestimate. They are the connection between your body and the board, and a bad pair will make a good board feel vague. Union's approach is to keep the baseplate minimal so the board can still flex underneath you, and to put the material where the load actually goes.
The mini-disc design is the clearest example. A smaller disc means less of the board is locked flat, so the board bends the way it was designed to. On a soft freestyle board the difference is obvious within a run.
Choosing a flex
Softer models are more forgiving, better for park and easier to learn on. Stiffer models transmit input faster and hold an edge better at speed, which is what you want on a big all-mountain board or in variable snow. Forged carbon appears in the higher models and buys you response without much weight.
If you are unsure where you sit, our snowboard bindings explained page walks through it, and the bindings buying guide covers flex, fit and compatibility together.
Step On and quick-entry systems
Union's Atlas Step On works with the Burton Step On boot ecosystem, which is a genuinely different way of getting into a board. We tested it on snow rather than in the shop, and wrote it up in the Union Atlas Step On review, including how it compares with the Burton version.
Union Boot Division
Union's boots are newer than the bindings but built on the same logic. We put the Reset through a season and the write-up is in the Union Reset boots test. Have a look at the range in Union Boot Division.
How to choose the right Union binding
Match the binding flex to the board and to how you ride, not to the top of the range. A stiff binding on a soft park board fights it. Then check boot compatibility: the binding needs to fit your boot, and highback and strap sizing matter more than the stated size range suggests. If you are buying boots at the same time, our boot fitting guide is the place to start, and boots for wide feet if that applies to you.
What to expect in the Union Sale
- All-mountain bindings: the mid-flex models most riders should be on.
- Freestyle bindings: softer flex for park and jib setups.
- Higher-end models: forged carbon builds when stock allows.
- Union Boot Division: boots from the newer side of the brand.
Why shop Union sale at Behind The Pines?
We mount and ride this hardware, and we service it in the shop. That means we can tell you which model suits your board, whether your boots will actually sit right in them, and what tends to wear first. Buying a binding on price alone is how people end up replacing it a season later.

Frequently asked questions
Will Union bindings fit my board?
Union baseplates work with 4x4, 2x4 and Channel mounting systems, so they fit essentially every modern board. Check the disc included with the model if you ride a Burton Channel board.
How do I pick the right size?
By boot size, not shoe size. Sizes overlap between S, M and L, so if you sit on a boundary the fit of the highback and straps decides it. We are happy to check for you.
What is the mini-disc?
A smaller mounting disc that locks less of the board flat, letting the board flex more naturally underfoot. It is most noticeable on softer freestyle boards.
Are stiffer bindings better?
Only if they match your board and riding. Stiff bindings respond faster but are less forgiving. Most riders are better served by a mid flex.
Are sale bindings previous-season models?
Often, yes, or a colourway we are moving on. Union changes construction slowly, so a previous-season binding is rarely meaningfully different.
