Behind The Pines Nimbus Zeiss Sonar® Ruby Red

We believe that the best products are often the ones that quietly become part of your daily life. The hoodie you reach for every morning, the socks that consistently outperform everything else in your drawer, or the T-shirt that somehow looks better after years of wear. Rather than chasing trends or seasonal hype, we focus on creating products that feel relevant today and continue to feel relevant years from now.

Our own Behind The Pines collection is a direct reflection of that philosophy. Every product starts with a simple question: is this something we would genuinely use ourselves? If the answer is no, it does not make it into the collection. That approach allows us to create products that feel authentic to the community that surrounds the store and the lifestyle that inspired the brand.

The collection includes premium T-shirts, comfortable sweaters, versatile hoodies, technical thermal underwear, durable hiking socks, everyday socks, and our own line of snowboard goggles. While the products themselves may differ, they are all built around the same core idea: create useful gear and apparel that people enjoy using repeatedly, whether they are travelling, exploring nature, snowboarding in the mountains, hiking through forests, or simply moving through everyday life.

Many of our products are inspired by activities that have shaped Behind The Pines from the beginning. Snowboarding remains deeply rooted in the company, which is why technical performance and real-world functionality are important considerations throughout the collection. The same applies to hiking, camping, surfing, cycling, and travel. We spend time using the products we sell and develop, which gives us a practical perspective that goes beyond specifications and marketing claims.

Being an independent company allows us to make decisions differently. We are not focused on producing as many products as possible. Instead, we focus on producing better products. We pay close attention to materials, fit, durability, comfort, and long-term usability. We believe people are increasingly looking for products that last longer, perform better, and reduce the need for constant replacement. That philosophy influences not only our own collection but also the brands we choose to work with throughout the store.

At Behind The Pines, we value thoughtful design. We appreciate products that solve problems without adding unnecessary complexity. Clean graphics, balanced fits, durable materials, and functional details often age better than trend-driven alternatives. This approach creates products that feel at home in different environments, from mountain towns and campsites to city streets and daily commutes.

Our roots remain firmly planted in Amsterdam, where Behind The Pines continues to operate as an independent retailer and brand. The stores, warehouse, and team all contribute to the development of the collection and the direction of the company. Every product represents years of experience gained through retail, customer feedback, product testing, and a genuine enthusiasm for outdoor culture.

If you would like to learn more about where the company started and how it has evolved over the years, you can visit our About page. If you are curious about the people who help shape the business every day, from product selection to customer service and store operations, you can meet the team on our Team page.

Whether you discovered us through our clothing, outdoor equipment, snowboard gear, or accessories, our goal remains unchanged. We want to create and curate products that encourage people to spend more time outside, travel further, move more freely, and enjoy the experiences that matter to them. From premium everyday apparel to technical outdoor essentials, every item carrying the Behind The Pines name is designed with that purpose in mind.

Alongside apparel and accessories, you can also explore our collection of sunglasses, carefully selected to complement an active outdoor lifestyle. Whatever brings you here, we appreciate your support and hope the product you are looking at becomes something you enjoy using for years to come.
