Forum Recon 2026 Snowboard

Snowboarding has always been at the core of Behind The Pines. Long before the store existed, our winters revolved around chasing snow, driving through the night towards the Alps, and spending as much time in the mountains as possible. That same passion still shapes the snowboard collection we curate today.

At Behind The Pines Amsterdam, we focus on carefully selected snowboard gear that we genuinely believe in. Every board, binding, and boot in our collection is chosen with a strong focus on performance, durability, and riding feel. Many of the boards we sell are personally tested by our team, allowing us to give honest advice based on experience rather than marketing language alone.

Whether you are searching for your first setup or refining a highly specific freeride build, choosing the right snowboard makes an enormous difference on the mountain. Board shape, flex, camber profile, sidecut, stance, and construction all influence how a snowboard behaves across different terrain and snow conditions.

To better understand these differences, read our Snowboards Explained guide. You can also use the Behind The Pines Snowboard Finder to narrow down the boards that best match your experience, riding style, preferred terrain, and the way you want your snowboard to feel.

Snowboards for Every Riding Style

Our collection covers a wide spectrum of riding styles and terrain preferences. From directional freeride shapes designed for deep powder and technical lines to versatile all-mountain boards and playful freestyle twins, we select snowboards that perform in real mountain conditions rather than simply following short-lived trends.

We carry snowboard brands that continue to push board design forward, including CAPiTA, Korua Shapes, Lib Tech, GNU, Bataleon, Stranda, Forum, Fjell, Island Snowboards, K2, Burton, and Moss Snowstick. Every brand approaches snowboard construction differently, from surf-inspired carving shapes and traditional camber boards to technical freestyle constructions and progressive freeride concepts.

You can browse our complete selection of snowboards, including models built for carving, freeriding, powder, freestyle, and all-mountain use.

Build a Balanced Snowboard Setup

A good snowboard setup goes beyond the board itself. The combination of your snowboard bindings and snowboard boots has a major influence on comfort, response, control, and overall riding feel.

Your boots should fit securely and provide the right level of support for your riding. Your bindings should match both the size and flex of your boots while complementing the character of your board. When all three elements work together, snowboarding feels more stable, precise, and intuitive across changing terrain.

For more information about binding flex, compatibility, and construction, visit our Snowboard Bindings Explained guide. Riders choosing new boots can start with our Snowboard Boot Fitting Guide.

Choosing the Correct Snowboard Size

Finding the correct snowboard size is equally important. A board that is too long, too soft, too narrow, too wide, or too aggressive for your ability can completely change your experience on snow.

Modern snowboard sizing is based primarily on rider weight, although boot size, board shape, terrain preference, ability level, and riding style should also influence the final decision. A directional powder board may be sized very differently from a traditional freestyle twin, even when both boards are intended for the same rider.

Our Snowboard Size Guide explains the most important sizing factors and helps you understand how length and width affect stability, manoeuvrability, edge control, and float.

A Personal Approach to Snowboarding

At Behind The Pines, we believe snowboard choice should remain personal. Different riders want completely different things from their setup. Some prioritise carving precision and stability at speed, while others focus on playful freestyle riding, powder float, technical freeriding, or all-day comfort.

That is why we curate a broad but carefully considered range of snowboard shapes, profiles, flex patterns, and constructions. The goal is not to offer every board available. It is to offer strong options for different riders and help you understand which one genuinely suits the way you ride.

Complete Your Mountain Kit

Alongside our snowboard hardware, we stock a carefully selected range of snowboard clothing and outerwear, snowboard goggles, snowboard helmets, technical layers, and mountain accessories designed to perform in real winter conditions.

Everything available online is also part of the collection offered through our Amsterdam store, where our team can help you compare boards, check boot and binding compatibility, and choose a setup based on your experience and riding goals.

Whether you are preparing for your first snowboard trip or already planning another winter of chasing storms, Behind The Pines is built around a genuine passion for snowboarding and mountain culture.
