The Gnu Banked Country Snowboard is a high-performance directional board built for riders who demand precision, stability, and float across all terrain. Designed in collaboration with Olympic legend Phil Hansen and Lib Tech’s design team, it blends freeride confidence with all-mountain versatility to dominate everything from deep powder to hardpack carves.
Directional Freeride Design
The Banked Country features a directional shape and a setback stance that enhance stability, control, and float in variable snow conditions. The long, gradual nose keeps the board on top of powder, while the slightly tapered tail adds smooth release through turns. Despite its freeride focus, it maintains a responsive, balanced feel for all-mountain agility.
C3 Camber Profile for Precision and Power
At the core of this board’s design is the C3 Camber profile, Lib Tech’s most aggressive camber shape. This profile delivers powerful edge engagement, high-speed stability, and explosive pop. A subtle rocker between the feet offers a touch of forgiveness and float, making it easier to maneuver in deep or unpredictable snow.
Magne-Traction® Edge Technology
Equipped with Magne-Traction® serrated edges, the Banked Country provides outstanding edge hold on firm and icy surfaces. The multiple contact points bite into the snow like a serrated knife, ensuring dependable traction and control when carving or navigating steep terrain.
High-Performance Construction
Handcrafted in the USA at Mervin Manufacturing, the Banked Country is built using Horsepower Construction (HP). The lightweight, sustainably harvested wood core is reinforced with triax and biax fiberglass for optimal strength and response. The sintered base delivers consistent speed, while the eco-sublimated top sheet and water-based inks minimize environmental impact without compromising durability.
