The Hestra Utsjö Elk Leather Glove Navy combines traditional Scandinavian leatherwork with practical insulation for cold everyday conditions. It is made from high-quality Nordic elk leather, a thick yet exceptionally supple material with a naturally rustic surface. The deep Navy colour gives the glove a refined, understated appearance that works with city coats, outdoor jackets and smarter winter layers.
Elk leather is valued for the way it balances softness and substance. It feels comfortable from the first wear, yet retains the durable character expected from a proper winter glove. Marks and tonal changes appear naturally over time, creating a personal patina rather than making the glove look prematurely worn. No two hides are identical, so minor variation is a sign of the real material.
Inside, a soft fleece lining is combined with PrimaLoft Gold insulation. The result is warm without feeling excessively heavy, with an airy, down-like hand around the fingers. Hestra gives the Utsjö a 5/8 warmth rating, positioning it as a dependable option for commuting, walking, travel and relaxed outdoor use through colder weather.
The cut is pre-curved to follow the natural shape of the hand, improving comfort and reducing the stiff feeling that can occur in flat-cut leather gloves. A knitted cuff closes softly around the wrist and fits neatly beneath many jacket sleeves. The leather strap with press stud provides a simple adjustment and adds a classic finishing detail.
The Utsjö is windproof, but it is not a waterproof membrane glove. It performs best in cold, dry weather and ordinary light winter precipitation. For extended rain or repeatedly wet snow, choose a technical waterproof model instead. Maintain the elk leather with an appropriate neutral balm, use only a small amount and let the glove dry slowly at room temperature.
We recommend the Utsjö to customers who want premium natural material, useful warmth and an honest design without a sporty aesthetic. The Navy colour feels quieter than traditional tan leather while still showing the grain beautifully. Explore further fits in our Hestra gloves collection. With careful maintenance, the Utsjö becomes more personal with every winter and remains a versatile piece for years.
Fit guidance: natural leather will relax slightly as it shapes to your hand, but the glove should not feel restrictive when new. Measure the hand around the knuckles and compare it with Hestra’s sizing chart. Good circulation is essential for the insulation to work effectively.
