The Rome Stale Fish 2027 is a directional powder-focused snowboard built for riders who want float, speed and precise edge control in one shape. Its design is centred around deep snow performance, but the overall construction keeps it composed when the terrain opens up and the pace increases. This is a board for powder days, long drawn turns and clean carving lines, with enough response to stay confident in mixed conditions.
The board uses Rome’s Free-The-Ride Camber profile, with rocker from the tip to just behind the front binding and camber through the remainder of the board. That combination gives the Stale Fish its balance of lift and control. The rockered nose improves float and manoeuvrability in deeper snow, while the camber section adds grip, stability and the support needed for more aggressive riding.
A directional shape, substantial taper and Directional Diamond 3D nose define the way this board moves through soft snow. The wider nose and narrower tail help reduce resistance in powder and make directional turns feel smooth and natural. The spooned 3D shaping in the tip adds extra float and helps the board transition more cleanly across variable terrain.
Under the surface, Rome combines a Pop Core with Triax Glass, Carbon HotRods and Directional Flax Walls in the nose. Together, these elements give the Stale Fish a quick, powerful response with added torsional stiffness and improved control when the snow gets steeper or less predictable. The result is a board that can feel surfy when ridden with a lighter touch, but remains sharp and supportive when pushed harder.
The Bi-Radial Sidecut uses a smaller radius in the nose and a larger radius in the tail, helping the board initiate turns easily while maintaining drive and grip through the rest of the carve. Combined with the directional platform, it gives the Stale Fish a strong sense of flow at speed. A SinterStrong Base completes the package with reliable glide, durability and straightforward maintenance for regular use through the season.

Yes, it is ideal for natural jumps on the slopes and in the backcountry and occasionally in the fun park.
You should wax your snowboard when the base looks dry or white, or after every 3–5 days on the snow for the best performance. Fresh wax keeps your board fast and protects it from damage.
