Rome Women's Katana AW 2027 is built for women-specific response with extensive tuning and lateral freedom. The Black finish keeps the look clean, while the ride comes from how the AsymWrap, highback and straps work together. Judge it as one tuned system rather than by the flex number alone.

The AsymWrap platform keeps support where it is needed while opening more lateral movement for tweaks, presses and a less locked-in stance. Rome’s flex figure positions it inside the brand’s range; it is not a direct scale shared by every manufacturer.

The G Baseplate, 15% glass and 85% nylon transfers input into the board, while the G Highback, 15% glass and 85% nylon provides heel-side support and leverage. Rome’s canted footbed supports a natural stance and adds damping between boot and board. The aim is not maximum rigidity, but a clean connection that matches the intended flex without creating unnecessary pressure.

The OmniFlex ankle strap and ProGrip toe strap distribute pressure over the boot. AuxTech® geometry expands under tension so the strap can wrap rather than pinch one narrow point. Tighten until the boot is stable, not until circulation is restricted. The adjustability rating is 9/10, indicating how much scope this model offers for tuning stance, strap position and response.

Boot-to-binding fit matters more than the size label alone. Available sizes are S, M, L. Place the actual boot in the binding, centre toe and heel overhang, then set strap length and footbed position. Rotate the highback to follow the heel edge and add forward lean gradually. Confirm the supplied mounting disc and hardware suit the board before riding; never force screws that do not seat cleanly.

Choose the AsymWrap when you want a 6/10 flex with room for lateral movement. It remains supportive enough for all-mountain riding, but feels more natural for tweaks, side hits and riders who do not want the binding to dictate every ankle movement.
