Saucony Grid Jazz 9 Vanilla / Grey

Saucony has always done things slightly differently. While many sneaker brands moved fully toward hype cycles and short-term trends, Saucony kept refining what originally made the brand respected in the first place: comfort, movement, durability, and genuinely good footwear design.

Founded in Pennsylvania in 1898, Saucony built its reputation through running. That performance DNA still shapes every sneaker they make today. Whether you are wearing a retro-inspired silhouette or a modern technical runner, there is usually a clear focus on cushioning, stability, fit, and long-term comfort underneath the design.

At Behind The Pines Amsterdam, we curate Saucony sneakers because they naturally sit in the space between technical footwear and everyday lifestyle wear. Models like the Jazz Original, ProGrid Omni 9, and ProGrid Triumph 4 combine breathable mesh, supportive midsoles, premium materials, and classic running-inspired design in a way that still feels relevant years later.

What continues to separate Saucony from many other brands is wearability. These are sneakers built for real daily use. Long city days, commuting, travel, standing for hours, unpredictable weather, or simply wanting a shoe that feels comfortable from morning until evening. Saucony sneakers consistently perform well because they prioritise how footwear should actually feel on foot.

For many people, Saucony also becomes an entry point into modern technical footwear. Running technology, impact absorption, stability systems, and ergonomic construction have gradually moved from performance sport into everyday sneakers. If you want to better understand how modern sneaker technology influences comfort and performance, explore our Sneaker Technology Explained guide.

The current Saucony lineup balances heritage and innovation particularly well. Classic silhouettes retain their timeless aesthetic, while updated constructions improve comfort, cushioning, and durability for modern daily wear. It is a balance that feels increasingly rare within the sneaker world.

At Behind The Pines, we carefully select Saucony sneakers that align with our wider philosophy around functional design, premium materials, and understated versatility. These are shoes designed to be worn heavily, not simply collected.
