The cooler features a FATWALL™ design with 7.5 cm of insulation, paired with PERMAFROST™ insulation to help maintain internal temperature from the moment it is packed. The INTERLOCK™ lid system works together with the COLDLOCK™ gasket to create a tight seal, reducing temperature loss and helping keep heat out during transport or extended outdoor use.

For long-term durability, YETI equips the Tundra 45 with its patented T-REX® lid latches, designed for repeated opening and closing, and the NEVERFAIL™ hinge system, built to resist breakage over time. The cooler also features a bear-resistant design, approved by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee, when used with an extra-long Master Lock® padlock.
