Introducing Armada Snowboards at Behind The Pines

The Proto LTD Series, where it all begins
Every once in a while a new snowboard brand appears that actually feels grounded from day one. Not built around hype or shortcuts, but around riding, testing and getting things right before talking about it. That is exactly how Armada Snowboards enters the picture.
We are proud to introduce Armada to the Behind The Pines store with their very first public snowboard release, the Proto LTD Series. This is not a preview or a marketing run. These are the first snowboards Armada has ever made available to the public, and they come straight from the development process itself.
Each board carries the original prototype graphic used during testing. The same boards, shapes and constructions that were ridden, refined and approved behind closed doors. Fully finished, production ready snowboards, wrapped in artwork that was never meant to be seen outside the design room.
Very limited. Once they are gone, they are gone for good.
First turns at Shop1sttry
We first rode Armada snowboards at Shop1sttry, a retailer-only on-snow event where shops get to test next season’s products long before they reach the sales floor.
It was our first real exposure to Armada on snow, and expectations were kept intentionally neutral. A new brand still needs to prove itself once bindings are mounted.
Within the first few laps, it became clear that these boards were not rushed. The camber profiles felt purposeful, the flex patterns made sense, and the overall ride felt familiar in the best possible way. These felt like proper snowboards, stable when needed, playful when pushed, and confidence inspiring from edge to edge.
Build quality stood out immediately. Clean finishes, solid materials, and a construction that feels designed to last rather than just survive a demo day.
Built by snowboarders.
Armada did not start with branding decks or trend forecasts. It started with people who live snowboarding every day. Riders, engineers, designers, photographers and sales reps who came up through shops and seasons on snow.
Every board in this first line went through full team approval. If it did not work in real riding conditions, it did not make the cut. That philosophy runs through everything Armada does. Freestyle is the foundation, not limited to the park, but applied to the entire mountain. Side hits, rollers, berms, rope ollies, park laps and long resort runs all matter equally.
The Proto LTD Series
A literal piece of the process
The Proto LTD Series represents Armada’s opening statement. Two boards only. One unisex, one women’s specific. Both directional. Both built for resort freestyle riding.
These are not test mules. They are the final result of Armada’s first design cycle, released exactly as they were ridden during development.
The Beatnik LTD
The first Armada snowboard ever made
The Beatnik LTD is where Armada began. Developed together with Danimals, it is a directional resort freestyle board designed to be ridden everywhere.
Camber gives it pop and energy without feeling twitchy. The flex is balanced, playful enough for natural features, but composed when you open it up. It is a board that rewards creativity across the whole resort and still feels stable on longer, faster runs.
The Do-Si-Do LTD
Women’s specific, without compromise
The Do-Si-Do LTD takes the same design language and applies it to a women’s specific platform. Directional, cambered and tuned for freestyle-focused resort riding. Lively underfoot, predictable edge hold, and built with the same materials and attention to detail as the Beatnik.
It does not feel softened or simplified. It feels intentional.
Why Armada at Behind The Pines
We choose brands carefully. Armada fits naturally into Behind The Pines because it is built on the same principles we value, substance over noise, thoughtful design, and products made to be used hard.
The Proto LTD Series is available only through a very small number of snowboard shops worldwide. We are proud to be one of the few carrying this first-ever Armada snowboard release.
The Beatnik LTD and Do-Si-Do LTD are the beginning. The full Armada snowboard collection arrives next fall. Until then, this is your chance to ride the start of something new.
