The Hestra Alpine Short GORE-TEX is a dependable, hard-wearing ski glove built for riders who want reliable protection without excess bulk. Designed for active downhill skiing, snowboarding, and everyday winter use, it combines durable materials with proven weatherproofing and a clean, functional fit. The glove sits in Hestra’s Alpine collection, known for robust construction and all-round performance in mixed mountain conditions.
At the core of the design is a fully waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX membrane, ensuring long-term protection against snow, wet chairlifts, or slushy spring days. The membrane regulates internal moisture effectively, allowing heat to escape during high-intensity runs while keeping external moisture out.
The palm is made from impregnated goatskin leather, chosen for its abrasion resistance, natural grip, and long-term durability. It handles ski poles, bindings, and everyday wear confidently while maintaining a soft, responsive feel. The backhand uses Hestra Flextron softshell with 4-way stretch, offering flexibility and mobility without sacrificing protection from wind and cold.
Inside, the glove features a brushed polyester lining that provides light insulation and moisture management. Hestra rates the warmth level at 4 out of 8, making this model ideal for riders with higher activity levels or for those who prefer a glove that stays breathable during sustained movement.
A neoprene cuff with Velcro adjustment seals out cold air while ensuring a secure fit that sits comfortably under jacket sleeves. Additional details such as elastic at the wrist and handcuff attachments reinforce practicality on the mountain, reducing the chance of losing gloves on the lift or during transitions.
Built to be versatile, durable, and low maintenance, the Alpine Short GORE-TEX suits a wide range of riders who want a premium glove that excels in changing winter conditions. It offers a strong blend of grip, mobility, and weather protection without unnecessary complexity.

The family business Martin Magnusson & Co. was founded in 1936 and is now run by the third and fourth generation of Magnussons. Both design and development is done at the headquarters in the small village Hestra, Sweden. Our gloves are manufactured in our own factories and we personally buy all leather, fabric, wool and other materials. This gives us control of the production chain and ensures a high level of quality. Several of our models are handmade by some of the most experienced glove makers in Europe. In 2019, we produced over 2 million pairs of gloves. The company has about 50 employees at its headquarters in Sweden. We also have a subsidiaries in United States, Norway and Germany as well as agents, distributors and retailers in over 30 countries.
