The Army Leather Heli Ski 5-Finger has become a benchmark in alpine glove design since its creation for Canadian ski guides who needed dependable warmth and flexibility in extreme conditions. Crafted from durable Army goat leather and Hestra Triton polyamide fabric, this glove offers exceptional grip, abrasion resistance, and lasting protection against snow and wind.
Its removable liner system makes it adaptable to varying activity levels and temperatures. The G-Loft synthetic insulation provides warmth even when damp, while the inner Bemberg fleece ensures softness and efficient moisture management. When conditions change, the liner can be replaced or removed for faster drying and temperature control, making this glove suitable for both lift-accessed powder and multi-day ski touring.
Designed for comfort and control, the Eagle Grip pre-curved construction follows the natural shape of the hand, enhancing dexterity for gripping poles or adjusting equipment. The extended gauntlet cuff with snowlock keeps powder out, while the Velcro wrist strap seals in heat. Small yet essential details like handcuffs, a carabiner loop, and an elastic wrist band ensure the gloves stay secure and accessible when removed.
The Army Leather Heli Ski is not waterproof but highly water-resistant, prioritizing breathability and quick drying over bulk. Its blend of technical materials and ergonomic construction delivers consistent performance for ski touring, freeriding, and alpine exploration. Every component reflects Hestra’s commitment to craftsmanship, function, and longevity, backed by decades of glove-making expertise from their family-owned factory.
This glove remains the trusted choice for mountain professionals and demanding riders who value reliability, warmth, and timeless Swedish design.

Hestra Gloves
The family business Martin Magnusson & Co. was founded in 1936 and is now run by the third and fourth generation of Magnussons. Both design and development is done at the headquarters in the small village Hestra, Sweden. Our gloves are manufactured in our own factories and we personally buy all leather, fabric, wool and other materials. This gives us control of the production chain and ensures a high level of quality. Several of our models are handmade by some of the most experienced glove makers in Europe. In 2019, we produced over 2 million pairs of gloves. The company has about 50 employees at its headquarters in Sweden. We also have a subsidiaries in United States, Norway and Germany as well as agents, distributors and retailers in over 30 countries.
