How Burton Step On Works

Step On uses three connection points between boot and binding: one at the heel and two around the toe area. Step into the binding, engage the heel and toe connections and you're ready to ride.

The important part is compatibility. Step On bindings require Step On-compatible snowboard boots, and the boot and binding also need to be the correct sizes for each other. Burton currently offers Step On across different flexes and also licenses the interface to selected other manufacturers.

Re:Flex is the more versatile option for board compatibility. Depending on the correct mounting hardware, Re:Flex bindings can work with common snowboard mounting systems including 2x4 and Burton's Channel system.

That makes Re:Flex a good choice if you want to use Step On on a non-Burton snowboard or move your bindings between different boards.

Step On EST

Step On EST combines the Step On boot connection with Burton's EST mounting platform.

EST is specifically designed for Burton snowboards featuring The Channel. It creates a different board-to-binding interface and is not the option to choose for a standard 2x4 board.

So you do not necessarily need a Burton snowboard to ride Step On.
