The Haglöfs Nallo Touring Hybrid Mid Men in True Black is a midlayer for ski touring when your effort and exposure keep changing. Its slim fit makes sense beneath a shell, while the hybrid construction addresses a familiar problem: wanting warmth around your core without dressing too heavily for the climb. It is a layer to manage actively as your pace changes.

Knitted Octa fleece forms the breathable, stretchy part of the construction. Haglöfs specifies polyester for this fabric. A Pertex Quantum Diamond Fuse overlay adds wind protection and abrasion resistance where it is placed. These materials have different jobs, so think of the jacket as a combination of air-permeable fleece and protective panels, rather than expecting every area to behave identically.

The overlay uses a water-repellent finish without intentionally added PFAS. This is not a waterproof shell. Keep a suitable outer layer available when prolonged precipitation or exposed conditions demand it. On an ascent, begin with enough clothing to stay comfortable without building excess heat; during a stop, add protection before you cool down. The right combination depends on your effort as much as the forecast.

A zippered chest pocket and external mesh pocket provide two different storage options. Check access with your own backpack straps fastened, and keep items that must stay dry in separate protection. The offset shoulder seams are a useful construction detail to assess when trying the jacket under a pack. Walk around with the pack loaded rather than judging comfort only in front of a mirror.

The hood, cuffs and lower hem have elastic finishes. Try raising your arms, reaching forward and closing your shell over the hood to see how the layers sit together. A slim cut should follow your movement without pulling across the shoulders. Check sleeve length in your touring position as well as standing upright. There is no need to compensate for a poor fit by restricting your normal range of movement.

Haglöfs lists a 278 g garment weight and reflective branding. For care, the brand permits machine washing at 40°C, low-temperature tumble drying and low-temperature ironing; do not bleach or dry clean. Always check the label on your garment.
