Dakine Heli 2.0 Pro Backpack 20L Black

The Dakine Heli 2.0 Pro Backpack 20L in Black is a compact snow pack for riders who want their day’s essentials organised around the way they move in the mountains. Its 20-litre capacity suits a considered day kit: an extra layer, food, water and the equipment your route requires. It is a useful size when you want dedicated snow features without carrying a larger pack just to fill it.

Getting to the descent sometimes means carrying your equipment. The deployable snowboard carry works vertically, with a horizontal option available too. Skis and splitboard components can be carried diagonally or in an A-frame configuration. Choose the arrangement that keeps your equipment clear of your stride, then check the straps before moving. The removable helmet holder has its own stash pocket in the lumbar panel when you do not need it.

The back panel combines padding and breathable mesh, while the ergonomic shoulder straps help spread the load. A 25 mm webbing hip belt with wings and a removable sternum strap let you adjust how the pack sits over your riding layers. Try the fit with the clothing and equipment you actually use. A small pack still benefits from sensible loading: keep heavier items close to your back and avoid loose equipment moving around.

Organisation is built around winter use. A dedicated snow-tool pocket has sleeves for equipment, and the large fleece-lined goggle pocket gives your spare goggles a separate place. An exterior quick-stash pocket and internal mesh pocket keep smaller items easier to find. The pack is compatible with an insulated hydration system or a two-way radio handset; check the dimensions of your own equipment before choosing your setup.

The polyester outer fabric includes recycled fibres, with 600D fabrics identified in Dakine’s construction details. Black identifies this particular colour and finish. The integrated RECCO reflector helps equipped professional rescue teams locate you. It is an additional rescue tool and does not replace an avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe or the knowledge needed to use them. The sternum strap also includes a rescue whistle.

Choose the Heli for organised resort days and day trips where carrying your board or skis matters. Check your complete kit against the available space before committing to a longer outing. After a wet day, unpack and let your equipment and pack dry before storage. Compare capacity and carry arrangements in our snowboard backpack selection.
