The Hestra CZone Alpine Mitt offers waterproof protection in a shorter cuff design for ski holidays and regular winter use. The mitten shape keeps the fingers together, prioritising shared warmth over the fine finger movement of a conventional glove. It is a useful middle ground when you want a leather gripping surface without a completely leather shell. The Black finish keeps the appearance simple, while the practical construction combines a flexible textile backhand, insulation and a membrane. Think of it as a straightforward choice for changing snow conditions rather than a specialist glove for one narrow riding style.
The CZone waterproof membrane stops outside water while allowing moisture vapour to escape. Treated goatskin provides the palm’s gripping surface, and the slightly stretchy polyester backhand follows the movement of the hand. Inside, brushed polyester with Fiberfill insulation creates the soft warming layer. These materials explain the balance: leather where you regularly hold equipment, textile where flexibility is useful, and a membrane for wet conditions. Waterproofing does not remove the need to manage sweat or dry the inside between days.
A neoprene cuff with hook-and-loop adjustment closes around the wrist without extending into a long gauntlet. Try it together with your jacket so the sleeve overlap remains secure while you bend the wrist. The elasticated wrist and handcuff attachment points add useful everyday details. Compatible wrist straps can be attached if needed; attachment points alone do not confirm that straps are supplied. Compared with a removable-liner construction, allow time for this insulated design to dry fully before another day outside.
Choose room around the fingertips rather than a tight, stretched fit. Close your hand around a pole or a binding strap: the insulation should not feel flattened and the cuff should stay comfortable. Try the gloves with your own jacket sleeves, because the overlap matters when you reach forward. An extra liner takes up space, so check the complete combination before choosing a size. Warmth also depends on circulation, activity and moisture; a glove cannot promise the same comfort in every temperature.
For leather care and drying, follow the label and use a treatment suitable for the leather. Let the shell air dry away from radiators and other direct heat. Open the cuffs to let the inside air out, and follow the washing instructions for the complete construction. Regularly checking the palm, seams and cuff helps you spot wear before a trip. A dry liner and supple outer are more useful than adding layers that make the fit too tight.

The family business Martin Magnusson & Co. was founded in 1936 and is now run by the third and fourth generation of Magnussons. Both design and development is done at the headquarters in the small village Hestra, Sweden. Our gloves are manufactured in our own factories and we personally buy all leather, fabric, wool and other materials. This gives us control of the production chain and ensures a high level of quality. Several of our models are handmade by some of the most experienced glove makers in Europe. In 2019, we produced over 2 million pairs of gloves. The company has about 50 employees at its headquarters in Sweden. We also have a subsidiaries in United States, Norway and Germany as well as agents, distributors and retailers in over 30 countries.
